Moon Rhythm Blues
Moon Rhythm Blues is a 4 to 5 piece Historical Blues band with members from Birmingham and Huntsville. MRB's book features New Orleans Blues songs as well as a range of historical guitar and piano based blues in the styles of Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, Otis Spann, Arthur Crudup, Ray Charles, and more. With this mix, opportunities to dance many different styles of Blues Dance (Jukin' and Ballroomin') are plentiful at many tempos.
Lead by dancer and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Carroll (vocal, guitar, banjo, harmonica, trumpet and trombone), Moon Rhythm Blues is based off of the rhythm section of Huntsville's long-standing Moondust Big Band. Alex Tinnel (keys) and Ben Jobe (bass) play with The Po-Boys and have an extensive repertoire of New Orleans Blues at their fingertips. The excellent Alan Shaw (drums) is a well known Birmingham musician and has extensive experience in a large variety of styles.
